SpaceTech Refresher Symposium
This section covers the SpaceTech Symposia. These symposia are organized by the Alumni Association of the SpaceTech Post-Graduate Program in close collaboration with the international SpaceTech community.
SpaceTech Refresher Symposium 2011 - 6th Edition
Date: Friday 1 July 2011 in ESA/ESTEC, the Netherlands
The sixth edition of the SpaceTech Post-Graduate Refresher symposium took place on Friday 1 July, 2011 at ESA ESTEC in Noordwijk, the Netherlands. Like in the 2010 edition, the subjects of the SpaceTech Central Case Project and the Refresher Symposium were aligned, effectively providing a two-day event for those interested in the topic of global, accurate and timely space imagery for mobile societies.
The theme of the 2011 symposium was: "Making Earth Observation Profitable". Do we finally enter an era where private investment in Earth Observation is profitable and a sustainable industry is born that addresses traditional markets and new applications such as infotainments?

SpaceTech Refresher Symposium 2010 - 5th Edition
Date: Friday 2 July 2010 in ESA/ESTEC, the Netherlands
The fifth edition of the SpaceTech Post-Graduate Refresher symposium was held on Friday 2 July, 2010 at ESA ESTEC in Noordwijk, the Netherlands. This year, the subjects of the SpaceTech Central Case Project and the Refresher Symposium were aligned, effectively providing a two-day event for those interested in the topic of solutions for removal of space debris. This turned out to be a total of almost 90 people. At the symposium, there were presentations from ESA, NASA, Eutelsat, DLR, EADS Astrium, Star Technology and Research, The Boeing Company and of course Delft University of Technology.
The theme of the 2010 symposium was: "Space Debris- How Do we Secure Access to Space for Humankind?"

SpaceTech Refresher Symposium 2009 - 4th Edition
Date: Friday 10 July 2009 in ESA/ESTEC, the Netherlands
The fourth edition of the SpaceTech Post-Graduate Refresher Symposium was held 10 July 2009 in the Erasmus Auditorium of ESTEC. Over 80 attendents, consisting of Alumni and guests, were present at the SpaceTech refresher symposium making this a succes. There where speakers from SpaceX, RapidEye, Ondas, OSS, ESA, SpaceTech and the Delft University of Technology.
The theme of the 2009 symposium was: "Space Entrepreneurship - Business with the Sky for profits on Earth".

SpaceTech Refresher Symposium 2008 - 3rd Edition
Date: Friday 28 June 2008 in ESA/ESTEC, the Netherlands
The third edition of the SpaceTech Post-Graduate Refresher Symposium was held 28 June 2008 in the Erasmus Auditorium of ESTEC. Over 80 attendents, consisting of Alumni and guests, were present at the SpaceTech refresher symposium making this a succes. There where speakers from 3I3S, Boeing, CNES, NASA, Eutelsat, SpaceTech and the Delft University of Technology.
The theme of the 2008 symposium was: "Systems Engineering Aspects for Earth Observation and Telecommunication for Disaster Reflief".

SpaceTech Refresher Symposium 2007 - 2nd Edition
Date: Friday 29 June 2007 in ESA/ESTEC, the Netherlands
The second edition of the SpaceTech Post-Graduate Refresher Symposium, which was held on June 29 2007, in the Erasmus Auditorium of ESTEC, was again a great success. Approximately 30 Alumni and 50 guests were present to hear the presentations from speakers from ESA ESTEC, ThalesAleniaSpace, EADS Eurocopter, EADS astrium, the Berliner, Corcoran and Rowe Law Firm, TU Delft, SpaceTech and several Alumni.
The theme of the symposium was strongly related to Space Systems Engineering and representative cases from the space industry and related service sectors were presented, highlighting their most important system engineering aspects.

SpaceTech Refresher Symposium 2006 - 1st edition
Date: Friday 30 June 2006 in ESA/ESTEC, The Netherlands
The SpaceTech Post-Graduate Refresher Symposium, which was held on June 30 2006, in the Erasmus Auditorium of ESTEC, was a great success. Approximately 40 Alumni and 20 guests were present to hear the presentations from speakers from ATK, EADS, Boeing, ComDev, TU Delft and several Alumni. All Alumni enjoyed the workshop with Dr. Jeff Austin as the highlight of the Symposium. Thanks to the wonderful weather the Alumni Beach Party was one big happening till midnight.
